Moto G Review

0

After so much anticipation the phone all were waiting for is finally here. Its making headlines all over, for its design as well as the exceptional rock bottom price. The price in US for a 8 GB handset is 179$, whereas 16 GB costs around 199$.

The options that the customers are offered at this price range might not attract as much attention as the high end segments but their is no denying that these budget phones are very famous in the markets of India and China. That's why Motorola has decided the release a special dual sim version of the phone in this market.

In India Moto G was released on 5th- January 2014 and within minutes all were sold. Currently only Flipkart is offering Moto G at their site. I got the hands-on with Moto G here's my opinion -

Initial Impression
The first impression on holding the handset was surprisingly good, its build quality was not actually cheap as is expected from the phone at this price range. When we first had the look of this phone, we were mistook it for Motorola flagship phone Moto X.
The glossy black front is complemented by snap on back covers which are available in 7 different colours, you can buy or just have a look at these beautiful covers just by clicking below-
Motorola Shell for Moto G

Physical Appearance
Moto G looks a lot like Moto X , which is a good thing considering the fact that you are getting a premium look of the company's flagship phone. Cool!!Right!

However you can't get everything same- Moto G is a little thicker and heavier  measuring 129.9x65.9x11.6mm and weighing at 143gm compared to 129.3x65.3x10.4mm and weighing at 130 gm of the Moto X. But this is just a technical specs, we didn't even feeal much of a difference while holding it.

At the front 1.3MP front camera and a notification LED light placed just next to the earpiece are the only visible component on the phone(there are not even soft- touch capacitive button on the front). There is no branding or logo at the front panel.

Motorola has also used nano- coating on the Moto G which acts as a water repellent. It does not mean that this is a water- proof phone, it's just that it will protect the phone from minor splashes of water, which is also a plus point. The back panel is removable but not the battery.

At the back is a 5MP camera which is placed at top centre of the phone, below is the flash and motorola "M" logo, which looks good. At the right edge of the phone is a narrow Power/Lock and Volume keys which are made up of metal. However we feel that the volume keys were somewhat shorter.

The display of the phone is 4.5 inch 720p edge to edge, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which was surprising.

Display
The 4.5 inch edge-to-edge display comes with 720p HD resolution and 329ppi - which makes every pixel sharp, vivid and crystal clear. It makes the day-to-day activities like watching videos, reading text and browsing through photos a captivating experience.
The MOTO G screen is a bit sharper than apple's iphone 5s which offers 326ppi.
Camera
There is a 5MP rear and 1.3MP front facing camera, which when tested gave us a decent results. However the video recording with this camera was somewhat below average. The camera also offers some nifty features like burst mode, auto HDR, panorama and slow motion video to make capturing pictures and videos easier and more fun, it's not missing out on anything.

Gaming and Performance
Moto G comes with a mid range GPU not a top-end-one, so there is no point comparing it with galaxy S4 or LG G2.
It has Adreno 305 GPU which is also present in HTC one mini and galaxy S4 mini. The gaming performane of this phone was also excellent.Games like Subway Surfer, temple run 2, and even high end games like Real Racing 3 runs smoothly and without any lag. With 1GB of RAM, the phone handles the memory quite efficiently.

Software and Battery
The phone ships with android 4.3 jelly bean, but it is upgradable to the latest version of android 4.4 Kit-Kat as promised by motorola. The interface of the phone is pure android with on-screen navigation control just like nexus phones. Motorola also includes some of its own apps which adds to the functionality.

When it comes to battery-life, the performance which we got was just great. We multi- tasked all day which includes intense session of gaming, instant messaging, browsing the web and it didn't ask us to charge the battery.

Price

The prices which I will be mentioning will the Indian price(INR) as well as USD.

In India Motorola offers dual sim version of Moto G staring from Rs.12,499 for 8GB model and Rs.13,999 for 16GB model.

The USD price for Moto G starts from $179.99 for 8GB model and $199.99 for 16GB model. Motorola also offers choice of selecting US GSM models and GLOBAL GSM models(both of whose prices are same).

So in the end lets sum-up with what's good and what not-

Whats good
  • great price
  • fantastic screen
  • good battery life
Whats not good
  • No LTE support
  • mediocre camera
  • non-removable battery

Verdict
You will not get a phone which offers a better quality of experience than this phone. This phone is a great combination of style and substance. If you wanted to buy a phone which is a value for money as well look decently stylish, GO FOR IT.

How to make images in blogger Non-clickable.

0

If you use blogger, you would have been know that by default images which we put in our blogs are linked to their full size which means if any visitor clicks on that image, then it will open in full size. This might be confusing for the visitors and it would takes away the traffic.

So if you don't want that, here is a little trick for making images Non-clickable in your blogger post:

If you are using Old-Post Editor.
First upload image you want in your post. Then click on the EDIT HTML of your post editor. Here you will see a bunch of codes. Now you will have to find the HTML codes for your uploaded images, which will look something like these:
.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/TNP_Qq8tsZI/AAAAAAAAAFUA/ADKJKtgcQmc/s1600/This+is+a+Image.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 259px; height: 194px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYMi6cpqryhgogJkX7bwtcaEiPGlFtu8DDtuLSFc9iSeArbjBqaOEIQKlhfkHWsMW7c7qEhXzsuzdjXwMfesVaYWRqpaXvusE4y-esfgUPxDF-q4pmrqtnWCbcWaED0-dOYNcOUrwtd5U/s400/This+is+an+Image.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_982264345529028840403346" border="0" /></a>
...................................................................................................................................................................
In the above example, the codes are divided in red and green colors. The red part of code is responsible for making the image a link while the green colored code displays the image. Now what you have to do is just delete the red colored part leaving the green part as it is. CONGRATULATIONS IT'S ALL DONE.

If you arbe using New-Post Editor.
So if you are working on the New-Post Editor than than the HTML codes will be somewhat different. First you will have to upload the image in your post editor. Then click on the EDIT HTML of your post editor. Here you will see a bunch of codes. Now you will have to find the HTML codes for your uploaded images, which will look something like these:
.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqCo5Cx5aERXmnTVQidL1ifNtjYMPKpV6r6a54zflOB9cBGtAm8jT8t-bNO2S_PrdgGKxPCaSqNraS4LH4Ap6S67ej3sOxFGc-3XXo45Qkt9bqriDMir9ZDQo9s0lB67EyhvltJqFABvEO/s1600/How to make images in blogger Non-clickable.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqCo5Cx5aERXmnTVQidL1ifNtjYMPKpV6r6a54zflOB9cBGtAm8jT8t-bNO2S_PrdgGKxPCaSqNraS4LH4Ap6S67ej3sOxFGc-3XXo45Qkt9bqriDMir9ZDQo9s0lB67EyhvltJqFABvEO/s1600/How to make images in blogger.jpg" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................
In the above example, the codes are divided into blue, red and green colors. The blue part of the code is responsible for alignment of the image, red part makes it a link and the green part displays the image. Now just Delete the red part of the code and you are all done.

15 Best Single-Page websites on the Web.

0

Single-Page websites is the new trend often adapted by web- designers to showcase their skills. While some of the users feels it is a very nice and clean way of showing the data and they just enjoy it yet other group of people thinks that a Single-Page design is not an adequate way to deliver the needs of a blogger or site-owners.

Whatever may the other people thinks, I really enjoy looking and scrolling through these pages but some sites are really frustrated as they have endless-scrolling up to the end.

My curiosity to these kinds of websites has led to this post in which we will showcase 15 of the Best Single-Page websites I have came across (ed).

Everything you need to know anout 3D Printing.

0

well admit it, up to now you would have probably heard about the "3D Printing" thing. I mean who didn't, "Its all over the news". This is the next big thing in the industry, at least that's what the experts thinks. If we talk in more general way, it is nothing but a printer which prints in three dimensions. Or more accurately, in a series of thin layers laid out according to a Computer program.

A machine reminiscent of the Star Trek Replicator, something magical that can create objects out of thin air. It can “print” in metal, nylon, plastic and over a hundred other materials.

You can print yourself a batman action figure, a product prototype, aircraft engine parts and even human organs using a person’s own cells.

Why not see a video for better understanding-

Some quick History.. While 3D printing technology has been around since the 1980s, it was not until the early 2010s that the printers became widely available commercially. The first working 3D printer was created in 1984, when Charles Hull began to experiment with printing materials instead of ink. Hull, who went on to found 3D Systems, dubbed the process stereolithography. Who is it for?? 3D printers has put the resources of a manufacturing plant within the comfort your sweet home or your office.  On a professional level, 3D printing affords entrepreneurs a more cost-effective option for manufacturing. But the real test could come next year, when a number of key patents expire. Once that happens, expect a flood of cheap 3D printers to hit the market, bringing more affordable manufacturing options to cash-strapped designers and entrepreneurs.  Homeowners might be able to print mugs, doorknobs, jacket hooks and other household items on a whim. Just imagine any person can now open their own gift shop  with products that are designed by their own.  That's just the beginning — everything from guitars and auto bodies to bikinis and bionic ears have been built using 3D printers. How can you have hands on this.... 1. MAKERBOT
The dream that anyone can print affordable  3D printing is achieved by the Makerbot Industries.  MakerBot Industries is a Brooklyn, New York-based company founded in January 2009 by Bre Pettis, Adam Mayer and Zach "Hoeken" Smith producing 3D printers. Makerbot is not just a pretty name when it comes to 3D printing. They are among the top in this field. Starting at $1749, you can print objects like iPhone case from a device that sits on your work desk. Currently you can work with only a single color but a dualstrusion model is yet to arrive in the market, the car model shown in the picture above can be achieved by a dualstrusion model. Just imagine you can personalized good in your home, the possibilities are endless.
2. SHAPEWAYS
Shapeways is a Dutch founded, New York based 3D printing marketplace and service, startup company. Users upload design files, and Shapeways prints the objects for them or others. Users can have objects printed from a variety of materials, including food-safe ceramics.
As of June 20, 2012, Shapeways printed and sold more than one million user-created objects.
On October 19, 2012 Shapeways opened a new '3-D printing factory' in Queens, New York that could house 50 industrial printers and churn out millions of consumer-designed products a year.
YOU CAN KNOW MORE ABOUT SHAPEWAYS BY CLICKING
HERE: Shapeways.
Service provided by Shapeways, offer 3D printing services to engineers, designers and architects who can't afford an industrial-scale machine. And trust me they are very good at it.
